TriRx Shawnee LLC is Hiring a SHW - Production Maintenance Mechanical Technician Near Shawnee, KS

Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Support manufacturing by troubleshooting industrial manufacturing machinery and providing resolution for process equipment malfunctions. Perform GMP preventive maintenance on production equipment. Provide support for production related projects.
  • Continuously maintain production machinery with the objective to improve system performance and efficiency. Perform equipment repairs for production areas and assist with the installation, verification and startup of new machinery and processes. Repair and fabricate manufacturing equipment parts on the production floor or in the machine/weld shop.
  • Comply with all workplace standards and safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and other company guidelines. Safe work practices must be used in manufacturing and machine shop environments.
  • Accurately perform GMP activities, such as preventive maintenance for manufacturing equipment, and correctly document these activities in both hardcopy and electronic formats. Maintain good organization and housekeeping.
  • Directly support the production and shutdown schedules outlined by Operations and complete scheduled maintenance activities and work orders from the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for safe and efficient manufacturing of quality products.
  • Take ownership of training opportunities and develop competencies such as technical skills, communication skills, and customer (production) support skills to enhance pharmaceutical production support.
  • Provide input on recommended spare parts needed for equipment and properly document parts usage. Assist in developing and maintaining maintenance safety procedures and SOPs.
  • Perform other duties as trained and assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or GED required.
  • A minimum of (2) years accredited/certified training (i.e. vo-tech) in mechanical technologies (machining, welding, and shop fabrication).
  • Must have a minimum of (2) years industrial hands-on experience maintaining production machinery in a manufacturing environment. Includes maintenance experience supporting industrial PLC-controlled manufacturing machinery and other equipment such as pumps, tanks, and piping systems. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to accurately diagnose and repair multiple types of manufacturing equipment.
  • Must have a minimum of (2) years of hands-on machining and welding experience fabricating and repairing parts using a metal lathe, vertical end mill, MIG/TIG welder, and other machine shop and power tools. Includes experience repairing and fabricating parts in a machine shop to make repairs and project improvements for manufacturing equipment.
  • Must be able to rotate to any shift based upon production support needs and training opportunities. Must be able to work overtime based on production schedule and as requested.
  • Must have excellent organization and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in both individual and team environments. Good written and verbal communication skills in English required.
  • Good personal computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel required. Previous experience using SAP helpful.
  • Must be able to perform the following:
    • Calculating math problems, technical reading and writing at a high school level.
    • Using analytical skills for troubleshooting various types of industrial machines and their controls.
    • Read/interpret/follow instructions regarding workplace documentation such as SOPs, equipment manuals, and work instructions.
    • Using both U.S. and E.U. formats of machine specifications, P&ID schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a pharmaceutical environment.
  • Basic electronic skills and experience use of some electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Experience using a CMMS for preventive maintenance activities.
1st shift: Monday - Friday (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM)
Some 1st shift overtime on Friday/Saturday required.
