Analyzes MRP (Material Requisition Plan) to determine purchasing/planning needs.
Manages purchasing, MRP report, supplier relationship management, product life cycles and servicing scheduling. Maintains necessary records and keeps abreast of pricing trends and availability of materials. Recommends action to ensure continued flow of materials to meet organization requirements.
Qualifications/Requirements of Position:
1. Must have good communication skills in English, both oral and written
2. 2 years purchasing experience in multiple lines of product in a manufacturing MRP/ERP environment.
3. Computer literate.
4. Experience working in a high volume environment.
5. High School graduate, some college helpful, but not required.
Essential Functions:
1. Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and determine availability and terms of sales.
2. Insures that all product is purchased and delivered on a timely basis.
3. Negotiates price, terms and delivery dates of purchases.
4. Maintains good relations with Vendors.
5. Create and maintain Work orders as required by MRP, print and distribute when necessary.
6. Responsible for second source of all vendors.
7. Control expenditures for all facilities working with production control, manufacturing and sales staff.
8. Manages and maintains inventory levels consistent with company requirements.
9. Maintains systems information regarding purchasing and inventory control.
