Employment Type: Full time Shift: Rotating Shift Description: St. Mary Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is proud to have an educational opportunity for a Chaplain Resident. If you would like additional information on the ACPE program and to submit your application please click here. Those accepted into the residency program will be offered a $45,000 annual stipend. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Theology, Religion, Spiritual Care or Spirituality, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. One Unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Ability to plan, develop, and implement programs for fulfilling the departmental objectives in meeting the spiritual needs of patients/families throughout the care continuum and life cycle for improving the health of our communities. Strong oral and written communication skills in the primary language of the workplace (English) with evidence of excellent interpersonal skills as well as the ability to present effectively before groups. Must be able to communicate effectively using clinical/medical terminology. Ability to learn and proficiently utilize Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software programs. Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment. Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire The program begins on August 19, 2024, and ends on August 22, 2025. The residents generally can expect to work a rotating schedule of 5 eight-hour shifts per week of 8:00AM-4:30PM and/or 2:30PM-11:00PM. Within the monthly schedule, residents are required to work 2 Saturdays and two Sundays a month. Residents also cover one shift for each of the following hospital holidays: Labor Day, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day, and Independence Day. As part of your educational experience, you may also provide occasional on-call standby coverage. An On-Call Standby chaplain can remain on standby at home. Upon receiving a call, the On-call standby chaplain may provide spiritual care over the phone or need to provide the care at the hospital.
