Trinity is looking for a Managing Director to lead its Competitive Intelligence Center of Excellence (COE). The Competitive Intelligence COE is a key area of growth for the Company, addressing the integration of competitive readiness and market knowledge. The Managing Director will be responsible for overseeing the continued growth of the COE, inclusive of setting strategy, driving revenue, developing the team, and serving as an intellectual leader/thought partner both internally and to Trinity’s clients.
Essential Functions
Company Leadership
Set vision and growth strategy for the CI COE; successfully execute on strategy
Serve as the subject-matter expert for competitive and market strategy, planning, and management across variety of global biotech, pharma, and med device companies
Serve as innovative thought-leader with self-initiative and commitment to the firm’s success
Oversee budgets, exceed revenue goals, and maintain expenses to ensure appropriate pricing and budget control.
Proactively engage staff in business development opportunities as appropriate to assist with and facilitate their growth
Client Development
Successfully articulate the firm’s capabilities to develop new client relationships and secure new business;
Deliver/present market intelligence content to clients in a compelling way, facilitating discussion and with continued exploration of what can be done to better position our clients’ products for success in increasingly competitive micro and macro environments
Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed to exceed client expectations and according to scope
Organize work and manage timelines overseeing assigned clients, projects and deliverables.
Collaborate with the client teams in Strategic Advisory to bring a composite knowledge of the market and execute and track required follow ups
Identifying sales/growth opportunities with existing clients (as appropriate), including cross-collaborative opportunities across Trinity domains
Contribute experience and expertise in proposal development and market intelligence program design
Financial responsibilities include monitoring budgets against revenue targets and supporting achievement of the COE goals, and meeting revenue goals individually and through managing project team revenue targets
Serve as the leadership level contact to lead discussions, oversee all presentations, and ensure thorough project implementation and quality deliverables.
Develop and grow business through lead and revenue generation, expansion of team and furthering team capabilities
Source additional business by both effectively managing existing accounts/clients and securing new accounts/clients
Be viewed by the client as Trinity’s expert resource, and demonstrate internal and external thought-partner relationship development capabilities with multiple clients
Contribute to Trinity’s focus on technology and tech-enabled solutions
Lead internal and external initiatives that further the firm’s status and capabilities
Help uphold and contribute to Trinity’s strong community culture and values
Staff Development / Mentorship
Be accountable for overall progression of staff, with particular focus on development of future management team
Lead and manage assigned teams, ensuring excellence in client deliverables and staff progression.
Proactively identify development opportunities for staff and supervisors, provide related guidance, and facilitate their success
Be a mentor and guide staff and supervisors on professional growth; serve as a mentor for team members and contribute to staff development
Oversee staff and supervisor training, identifying needs and facilitating opportunities.
Identify key contributors and high potential employees to ensure their retention in support of company’s low turnover objectives
Project Leadership
Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed to exceed client expectations and according to scope.

Education: Bachelor’s degree required, Advanced Degree Preferred
Work Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in market intelligence, life science consulting, or other relevant areas within the life sciences industry.
Other Skills:
Enthusiasm for working collaboratively in a dynamic, team-based environment, managing junior staff and communicating effectively with senior level staff
Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
Well versed in pharmaceutical industry including global healthcare systems
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; working knowledge of relational databases is a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong data visualization and slide development skills
Excellent strategic synthesis skills
Solid business acumen and marketing orientation
Entrepreneurial spirit and go-getter mentality

Trinity’s salary bands account for a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets and market demand for skills; level of experience and training; specific qualifications, performance, time in role/company, geographic location, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $280,000 – $300,000. In addition to your base salary, you will also be eligible for an annual discretionary performance bonus.
