Program Specialist- Part time (Behavioral Health) 1524R (Joliet, IL) (Lockport, IL) (Crest Hill, IL)

Part-Time Program Specialist (Behavioral Health)

Job Sites: CILA homes in Joliet, Lockport, and Crest Hill

Schedule/Shift: Part time: 3 p.m. - 11 p.m. shift. Minimum 3 shifts per week.

Pay: $22.11 per hour

Description: Program specialists are skilled staff dedicated to the practice of providing the highest quality services consistent with Trinity Services’ mission and core values. Program specialists do not have a fixed work site and travel from location to location, wherever specialized services are needed. Program Specialists run programs for skill development, community involvement, and actively encourage healthy leisure/coping activities. They specialize in implementing behavior plan procedures, including preventative and reactive strategies for challenging behavior. Program Specialists collaborate with other staff to implement appropriate plan strategies, and manage behavioral incidents. Make a difference! Be a part of clinical team that helps adults with mental illnesses and developmental disabilities flourish!

Responsibilities:

  • Runs programs for skill development, leisure skills, and community participation.
  • Transports persons served to and from work/activities as needed.
  • Assists with daily life skills and runs programs for the prevention of challenging behavior.
  • Responds to crisis with responsible de-escalation strategies.
  • Records data on behavior plan targets.
  • Collaborates with Behavior Analyst and Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional concerning goals, objectives, and treatment techniques.
  • Works with supervisor to develop an individual plan of personal growth and development.
  • Participates in team meetings/trainings with Behavior Analyst and other program specialists.
  • Trains direct support staff on behavior plan procedures, data collection, and related strategies.
  • Completes weekly checklist of services provided.

Minimum Qualifications: Qualified applicants must have their bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field. Experience in mental health, ABA, or special education preferred. Additionally, applicants must be able to complete the following physical tasks such as balancing, pulling, pushing, standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
