Trinity Lutheran Church and School is Hiring a Bookkeeper Near Jefferson, MO

Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Bookkeeper. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. This is a vital role within our organization, as you will play a key part in managing our financial transactions and keeping our books up-to-date.

Duties:

Provide bookkeeping services:

  • Maintain appropriate, accurate and timely financial records including but not limited to:

1) Accounts payable and receivable with supporting documentation

2) General ledger

3) Monthly income and expense statement

4) Bank accounts

5) Investment and other special accounts

6) Tax reporting as required

  • Individual confidential contribution records
  • Record weekly bank deposits and work with the bank to resolve any discrepancies
  • Reconcile the General Fund checking account and the Building Fund money market account monthly or more frequently as needed.
  • Complete and record bank deposits for miscellaneous accounts as necessary
  • Process monthly ACH school tuition, lunch, after school care transactions in conjunction with the School Office Manager and change amounts as necessary prior to upcoming school year
  • Create and maintain EFT controls for limits on automatic payments to vendors
  • Record memorial and other financial gifts to the church
  • Coordinate bulk purchases that would benefit both church and school

Coordinate with Church Treasurer on financial areas, including but not limited to:

  • Prioritization of duties
  • Special projects regarding funds, accounting records or related areas
  • Financial areas of concern

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 20 per week

Schedule:

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Bookkeeping: 1 year (Preferred)
  • QuickBooks: 1 year (Preferred)

Ability to Commute:

  • Jefferson City, MO 65109 (Required)
