Surveillance Investigator Responsibilities:

• Perform clandestine field surveillance operations, focusing on detecting worker's compensation and insurance fraud.
• Employ both stationary and mobile surveillance techniques effectively.
• Capture high-quality video and photo evidence of subjects.
• Compile thorough investigative reports based on surveillance findings.
• Manage and upload multimedia evidence into the case management system.
• Conduct on-site investigations, interviews, and recorded statements.
• Document interviews through written reports and recordings.
• Provide legal testimony when required.
• Undertake additional assigned tasks, including setting up outdoor surveillance equipment for the Unmanned department.

Requirements:

Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of investigative experience.
• Proficiency in conducting covert field surveillance.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Capable of collecting, organizing, and presenting information effectively.
• Ability to provide legal depositions and testify in court.
• Skill in evidence gathering and organization.
• Familiarity with legal documentation procedures.

License/Certification Requirements:

• Valid state-issued driver’s license.
• Current auto insurance.
• Possession or ability to obtain a Private Investigator license in the relevant state.

Required Equipment:

• Reliable vehicle.
• Smartphone with access to app store (Android OS 7 or higher, Apple iOS 11 or higher).
• Laptop computer with Microsoft Word, Windows, and internet connectivity.
• Digital video camera with upload capability and accurate time/date stamp.
• Covert surveillance camera.

Working Conditions:

• Hourly, non-exempt status with potential for extended work hours and significant travel.
• Occasional overnight travel, weekend/evening work, and holiday shifts may be required.
• Exposure to varying environmental conditions, both indoor and outdoor.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Vision capabilities including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception.
• Prolonged periods of sedentary work and moderate exposure to adverse weather conditions.
• Capability to lift a 45lb surveillance camera when necessary.
