Description
Wilson Engineers is an Arizona-based firm with a staff of more than 120 personnel specializing in water and wastewater engineering and construction management. We are seeking a person to work 40 hours/week in our Tempe office to be responsible for managing the expenses, billing, and budget for one or more projects. In most cases, the Project Manager sends bills and invoices to the Accounting Project Coordinator for approval and payment, and the Project Coordinator maintains records regarding costs and project-related expenses.
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Project Coordinator to join our team. This position requires 40 hours per week in our Tempe office. (This job is not remote nor hybrid.)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As an Accounting Project Coordinator, your duties and responsibilities include investigating billing issues and overages, as well as forecasting future costs to ensure the company can complete the project within budget.
Provides support to our Wilson Engineers' Project Managers in managing the financials associated with the project assignments. This includes recognition of project costs (labor and expenses), assistance in project billing and compilation of backup, forecasting of effort, and budgeting for multiple projects.
Coordinates with Project Managers to review invoices from subconsultants and vendors for review, approval, processing, and maintenance of records regarding costs and project-related expenses.
Investigates any invoice issues and overages and forecasting future project costs (cash flows) to support the Company’s ability to complete the project within budget.
Manages budget and controls expenses for each project.
Estimates labor and expense costs.
Reconciles all invoices from subconsultants and vendors.
Delivers project financial reports to management.
Assists the Project Managers in allocating proper resources for project planning.
Provides status of financial condition of the project on a monthly basis by collecting, interpreting and reporting key project financial data.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a business, financial or related field or equivalent work experience.
Two or more years of experience in managing an accounting function in a medium- or large-size company.
Above average working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time and on-site position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
