Summary:

The Accounts Receivable Specialist - Deductions & Promotions is responsible for the processing of customer AR debits. Processing responsibilities will include activities related to Documenting, Delegating, Researching, and Disbursement to resolve disputes accurately and timely. To accomplish these responsibilities the AR Specialist may have to research invoice short payments, customer disputes, and promotional claims and perform light account reconciliation, application of credit notes, and file collection disputes to recover invalid debits.

• Collect, document, archive, and retrieve information related to debits.
• Delegate disputes based on customer remittance and debit documentation.
• Create and manage requests to customers through email or website portals.
• Resolve disputes through reconciliation, application of funds or credit notes, or filing collection disputes.
• Manage these processes through the efficient and accurate processing of a large volume of debits and debit related activities for a variety of customers.
• Must be able to follow simple instructions, work independently and efficiently, and possess critical thinking skills.
• Perform these functions using an ERP, Microsoft Office, Customer website portals, and other technologies.

This is a nonexempt position with an hourly rate of $25 to $32.

Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, Knowledge/Skills/Abilities)

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• A combination of 2 years of accounting/business experience or equivalent education.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, functions, and pivot tables.
• The role requires that ability to manage a large volume of documents and communications regarding many disputes from many unique customers and departments.
• The work performed requires attention to detail and the ability to interpret customer furnished documents that may require a degree of interpretation to properly research and delegate.

Preferred education and experience

• College level courses in accounting and/or business
• Experience in Collections, Accounts Receivable, or Bookkeeping
• Advanced skills in Excel, Power Query, or Power Automate
• ERP / SAP experience

This job takes place in a typical office environment: temperature controlled with adequate lighting and has moderate noise.

Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer for long periods and often sit at a desk in an office environment.
