Tri State Warehouse is Hiring a Forklift Operator (1st shift / Free Benefits) Near Cleveland, TN

Monday through Friday (7:30 am to 4:00 pm)

Summary/Objective
The forklift operator position will be responsible for, but not limited to, functions pertaining to shipping, receiving, storing, loading and distributing materials and products. The activities of this assignment are oriented to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ability to become certified and safely operate a Stand-Up and/or Sit-Down Powered Industrial Truck (PIT).
  • Read customer order, work order, shipping order, or pull sheets to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Sort and place product on racks, shelves, or on the floor according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, product cod, or system directed.
  • Fill and process pull sheets, work order, or requests for other materials in accordance to procedure.
  • Weigh or count items for distribution within warehouse to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Load and unload materials into trucks with a lift truck.
  • Transport product to and from receiving, storage, or to other designated areas within the warehouse.
  • Responsible for maintaining the stability of the pallet by ensuring it is properly stacked/wrapped.
  • Making sure the product is in good condition.
  • Process inbound receipts as needed.
  • Assists in physical inventory counts of finished goods as required.
  • Prepares bill of lading and packing slips for outbound orders.
  • Assists with shipping logs and checks all paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
  • Follow the proper safety procedures for loading a truck.
  • Responsible for observing safety rules at all times and reporting unsafe conditions to department supervision.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to dust. The employee may occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, extreme cold, and extreme hot.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk and hear. The employee is required to bend, climb, lift, kneel, sit and/or stand for long periods of time; use hands to handle or feel and/or reach with hands and arms. The employee may lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 6 months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

7. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure by using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
