Job Summary:
Performs diagnostic ultrasound and/or musculoskeletal exams on a variety of patients in an efficient and caring manner. Evaluates exams for diagnostic quality while using professional judgment in the performance of services. 
Essential Duties:
1. Operates and manages medical diagnostic ultrasound equipment to complete a variety of procedures
2. Consistently produces diagnostic quality exams, individualizing technical factors, scanning parameters and patient positioning as required by each procedure.
3. Effectively uses PACS to process, access and distribute appropriate department and patient procedure information.

4. Assist physicians in the operating room
5. Assist in transportation of patients to and from the department.
6. Participates in providing education and information to patients and their families.
7. Performs other functions as assigned

Qualifications
1.) RMSKS or RMSK Certification required from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
2.) Demonstrated competence in diagnostic ultrasound procedures.
3.) Ability to communicate with physicians regarding the diagnostic exams performed on a routine basis. 
4.) Excellent interpersonal, decision-making, facilitation, conflict resolution skills.
5.) Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.
6.) Ability to work independently and under pressure in a complex and changing working environment.
7.) Demonstrated computer skills and knowledge of computer software related to electronic image and clinical information management.
