Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association... is Hiring an Accounts Payable Manager Near Westminster, CO

Job Description:

Responsible for supervising the Accounts Payable functions, ensuring timely and correct disbursements, assisting in the development and maintenance of proper disbursements processes, policies and practices, including compliance with IRS requirements. Prepares management and regulatory reports as needed or requested. Plans, implements and assures compliance with procedures and controls for all disbursement functions.

Accounts Payable Manager

Hiring Salary Range: $86,000-$116,000

Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary outside of the posted hiring salary range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and train personnel.
  • Supervise appropriateness, accuracy and validity of all disbursement requests.
  • Supervise the accurate and timely payment of all vendors.
  • Prepare management and regulatory reports as needed or requested.
  • Plan, implement and assure compliance with Corporate Policy C-53 and related programs and procedures for all disbursement functions.
  • Advise employees and management of policies and procedures and regulatory or legislative changes and interpretations.
  • Ensure that all liability accounts and subsidiary journals reconcile on a regular basis.
  • Provide technical assistance to corporate personnel, as needed in proper disbursement accounting.
  • Prepare and administer the annual budget.
  • Prepare special reports and financial analyses, as required.
  • Adhere to and demonstrate compliance with appropriate electric utility industry regulatory requirements. Attain knowledge and remain knowledgeable of development in regulations, laws, standards and best practices applicable to the functional area including, but not limited to, Standards of Conduct, Environmental, Employment Law, NERC Reliability Standards and Safety. Must be familiar with, and comply with, all aspects of Corporate Policy C-54, Compliance.

  • Because Tri-State has an obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to its customers, the ability to work overtime at any time of the day or week is considered an essential function of the job.

Qualifications:

Education and Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal regulations applicable to Accounts Payable.
  • Working knowledge of mainframe and personal computers, and related systems and software.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to supervise, plan, and coordinate the work of others.
  • Must be able to demonstrate that he/she can perform all of the essential functions of the position.

Experience:

  • Eight years (8) years of accounting experience including Accounts Payable experience. At least two (2) years of supervisory experience is desired.

Other:

  • Willingness to travel as required. (Must possess a valid driver's license.)

DESIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Oracle ERP Cloud desired.
