Full charge Bookkeeper

Part time – 25-32 hours as needed

Hybrid employee

Flexible schedule – In office one (1) or two (2) full days per week, to be determined by business needs.

Job Summary

The bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records of the business in addition to resident account while also performing various accounting tasks. The bookkeeper is a critical position that works in close collaboration with the Park Manager and the Board of Directors. On a day-to-day basis, the Bookkeepers primary responsibilities include overseeing the daily financial transactions of Tri-Park Cooperative Housing. This position’s impact is significant as it requires collaboration and frequent interactions with the residents of Tri-Park, as well as the Park Manager and Board of Directors.

Qualifications

  • Three (3) or more years of accounting experience.
  • Experience in the rental property industry.
  • QuickBooks Online experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong computer skillset including Microsoft Office suite with an emphasis on Excel.
  • Exceptional Organizational skills
  • Proficiency in generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) particularly as they pertain to housing, employment, and for-profit organizations.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Attention to detail, high level of accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines required.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and generate reports.
  • Familiarity with payroll processing and general ledger reconciliation

Essential Functions of the Bookkeeper include:

  • Prepare vendor invoices and process payments.
  • Process monthly rent payments.
  • Manage all aspects of the company’s financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger reconciliation.
  • Collect time sheets from Park Manager on a weekly basis and process payroll in an accurate and timely manner to ensure all employees are paid on time and within state and federal regulations.
  • Produce W-2’s for employees.
  • File quarterly and annual state and federal forms.
  • Process and post receipts, invoices, and credit memos with strong attention to detail and accuracy in a timely manner.
  • Bank deposits should be made on at least a weekly basis.
  • Prepare and process journal entries for financial transactions.
  • Generate financial reports as requested by the treasurer of the Board of Directors, the Finance Committee and/or the Park Manager, such as the profit and loss statement, balance sheets and income statement.
  • Generate Financial reports as required by external funders and lenders.
  • Work with Park Manager and Finance Committee to develop budget.
  • Enter approved budget into QuickBooks Online.
  • Collaborate with the Park Manager to monitor the budget.
  • Complete month end and year end closing processes and mails out 1099s as required.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations.
  • Maintain organized and secure financial documentation for auditing purposes.
  • Accurately input numerical data.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and manage company relationships with any outsourced accounting firm as needed to ensure efficient and effective use of company funds.
  • Ensure all financial information is accurate.
  • Ensure that all data reporting is accurate, timely, and easily accessible.
  • Attend one board meeting a month, the first Thursday of each month, if requested by the Board of Directors or Park Manager.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 32 per week
