Teacher Assistant
Head Start - Extended Day
Full-time (30 Hours per week) Full Year
General Responsibility: Ensure a safe, healthy learning environment for children ages 3-5.
Specific Responsibilities:Be knowledgeable about developmentally appropriate practices and assist with the planning of developmentally appropriate activities related to children’s interest; preparation and implementation of daily snack, rest time set-up and care, tracking attendance, maintain parent communication, keep a well-organized classroom, complete the End of the Day Responsibilities Checklist and work collaboratively with the Extended Day Supervisor.
Qualifications: Associates Degree Early Childhood Education (preferred) or Preschool CDA. Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standards certificate preferred.
Special Qualifications: Be at least 18 years of age. Become CPR/First Aid certified with the first 2 months of hire. 1-2 years of preschool experience preferred. Must be able to work in a team environment with staff and families, be creative, and have good communication and leadership skills. Demonstrate an understanding of everyone’s experiences, every day. Ensuring the delivery of services that recognizes and respects that every moment matters.
