Tri City Glass & Door is Hiring an Installation Service Technician Near Appleton, WI
- Fabricate and install commercial hollow metal doors, hollow metal frames, windows, wood doors, and hardware.
- Read and understand work orders and shop drawings.
- Measure openings and inspect work performed by subcontract crews.
- Attend job site meetings while on-site working and complete required paperwork and documentation.
- Assemble materials with mechanical fasteners, rivets, sealants, and / or welding.
- Handle raw glass, hollow metal, and wood on a regular basis.
- Load and unload glass, doors, frames, and other products as needed.
- Lay out, measure, and mark dimensions and reference lines on material, such as door panels, using calculators, scribes, dividers, squares, or rulers.
- Fabricate or alter parts and other hardware needed to maximize the efficiency of products using shears, hammers, punches, drills, and welders while on the job site as needed.
- Maintain and have knowledge of existing and new products with the commercial department as well basic construction.
- Cross reference all work orders with work to be completed.
- Communicate with the project manager to make sure jobs are done completely, correctly and on time.
- Read and understand installation instructions for any hardware or products used to complete the project.
- Discuss and review customer orders to ensure the appropriate materials needed to complete the work order are available.
- Fulfill work orders to satisfy customer service requirements.
- Using mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail, problem-solve installation and or any customer concerns as they come up, on both new products and existing to ensure all work is done properly.
- Communicate with our customers onsite and/or scheduling team in the event jobs are delayed or early.
- Collect amount due for service performed as directed by Service Coordinator.
- Practice safe work methods at all times, report, and respond to hazardous situations.
- Travel safely to work sites accordingly to the job order in the company’s vehicle within assigned territories in the state.
- Work on your feet for long periods of time
- Work outside in year long.
- Required to wear and use Personal Protective Equipment per Tri City Glass & Door and contractor policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must be 18 years or older of age to operate power tools.
- Previous construction/residential experience, plus.
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools, tape measures, levels, power tools, etc.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or carry up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to perform physical tasks for extended periods including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting over surfaces.
- Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or scaffolding.
- Ability to work independently or in a team.
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and problem-solve.
- Ability to work out of town overnight, occasionally.
