Tri City Electric is Hiring a Project Controls Specialist Near Des Moines, IA

Tri-City Electric Co. is currently seeking a Project Controls Specialist for an immediate opening in Des Moines, IA. The Project Controls Specialist will be responsible for tracking employee performance during a project and supporting all managers involved with the project. In this role you may report any problems with the project, help ensure the schedule and budget match the objectives of the project, and ensure operations conform to the project plan.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure various elements of the project adhere to the plan
  • Work with both project managers and employees assigned to the project
  • Monitor and optimize financial performance of projects, assess procedural efficiency, and provide quality analysis to project managers and operations leadership
  • Facilitate planning meetings
  • Create and update schedules for each aspect of the project you monitor
  • Communicate weekly project status updates and recommend strategic and tactical planning adjustments as necessary
  • Track project milestone deadlines and verify that quality control reviews are scheduled and completed by the QC team

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field Engineering, Construction Management, or 8 years managing project controls
  • Minimum of 4 years’ working experience related to project controls
  • Proficiency in Primavera, SAP, Microsoft Project, and SharePoint
  • Experience presenting recorded data and creating reports
  • OSHA 30 preferred, or the willingness to obtain upon hire

Candidates must possess strong attention to detail, tact, and consideration, focus on accuracy, solid communication skills, positive initiative and judgement, the ability to problem solve and meet deadlines, self-motivation, business acumen and be organized. This is a full-time salary position. Days and hours of work are Monday-Friday 7:00am-5:00pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. This schedule is mandated by jobsite requirements so is subject to change as business needs require.
