SUMMARY OF POSITION
The RN Supervisor is responsible for the assessment, establishmnet and promotions of the care environment for the the purpose of improving and maintaining healthy resident outcomes. They must always provide professional nursing care according to ANA Standards of Nursing Practice in conformance with recognized nursing techniques and procedures, established standards and administrative policies. This position is for every Saturday - Sunday, 7pm - 7am. ($4 shift differential for weekend pay).
They must have excellent skills and show an ability to lead and get along with all types of people while maintaining the standards needed. Being a team player is a must and having the experience to be able to adjust to many different situations in the environment is needed. Med Surgery experience and LTC experience will serve this candidate well in our environment.
PRIMARY DUTIES
1.Supervise nurses and ancillary nursing staff effectively;
2. Perform daily rounds to assess staff performance;
3. Identify basic physical and psychological needs and plan appropriate nursing interventions for residents when needed;
4. Check crash carts on all floors and emergency kits weekly and restock as necessary;
5. Possess awareness of Code of Conduct and Disciplimary Action Guidelines in order to govern employee conduct;
6. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to promote quality resident care and assume responsibiltiy for the care given under their direct supervision;
7. Supervise ancillary nursing staff effectively;

9. Demonstrate knowledge, communication skills and values needed for effective teamwork;
10. Maintain ethical standards and plan appropriate nursing interventions;
11. Maintain adequate staff with in-house employees, using supplimental staff only in emergency;
12. Chart significant and meaningful observations of the residents reflecting nursing process in the delivery of nursing care;
13. Assess and identify resident problems, symptoms and behavioral changes while also organizing nursing care and daily routine for the assigned unit;
14. Confer with physicians and other health care professionals as needed to promote quality resident care;
ADDTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
LICENSE/QUALIFICATIONS
1. State of TN or multi-state license as an Registered Nurse, in good standing.
2. Must possess a current CPR certification.
