Job Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Planning Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing efficient production schedules to meet customer demands while optimizing resources. The Production Planning Specialist will collaborate with various departments, including manufacturing, procurement, and logistics, to ensure timely and cost-effective production processes.
$65K to $80K depending on the experience.
Responsibilities:
Production Scheduling:
Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on customer orders, forecasts, and production capacity.
Coordinate with production teams to ensure smooth workflow and minimize downtime.
Capacity Planning:
Evaluate and analyze production capacity, identifying opportunities for optimization and improvement.
Collaborate with relevant departments to address capacity constraints and implement solutions.
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels to prevent stockouts and excess inventory.
Work closely with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize carrying costs.

Determine the need for all kinds of materials (raw materials, consumables, additives, paint, bags, etc.) required in the production process and inform the purchasing unit to ensure their supply.
Collaboration:
Liaise with sales, marketing, and customer service teams to gather information on customer demand and forecast accuracy.
Communicate production schedules and changes to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.
Analyze production performance metrics and recommend adjustments as needed.
Resource Allocation:
Optimize the use of machinery, equipment, and labor resources.
Risk Management:
Anticipate and proactively address potential production issues to mitigate risks.
Develop contingency plans to address unexpected disruptions in the production process.
Data Analysis:
Utilize data and analytics to make informed decisions related to production planning and scheduling.
Generate reports on key performance indicators and provide insights for improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
Proven experience in production planning or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in using production planning software
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
