QUALIFICATIONS
a. PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL
· Possesses required credentials for employment as an EMT for the Trenton Emergency Medical Service as described herein.
Valid Driver's License
· Physically and mentally capable of carrying out the full range of patient care related duties required in the delivery of emergency medical care in an Urban EMS System.
b. EDUCATION
· Current CPR certification
· Minimum current EMT certification
· CEVO II (EVOC acceptable)
· PHTLS certification (BTLS acceptable)
· ICS 100, 200, 700, 800
· Hazmat Operations for EMS
· PEPP (PALS or APPLS acceptable)
c. EXPERIENCE
· One-year experience of volunteer or paid Emergency Medical Service previous inter-city EMS experience preferred.
The EMT shall be able:
· to lift and move patients in varied circumstances using varied lifting and moving devices, in accordance with EMT-B Curriculum standards.
· to physically perform emergency medical care in the pre-hospital setting as an EMT
· to communicate clearly and effectively using a two-way radio and/or telephone
· to operate computers and other electronic devices as necessary
