TRC is seeking a Safety Specialist in the greater Boston area to join our rapidly growing Safety Consulting business in Massachusetts & New England. This position will support a range of construction projects at multiple locations throughout the greater Boston and larger New England area. As a Safety Specialist you will be responsible for working with the project team to implement the project health and safety program for multiple subcontract remediation and demolition projects in the region. This position would be working within our Building Sciences, Industrial Hygiene and Safety business practice within our Environmental Health and Safety Sector.

• Oversee all aspects of Client/Contractor project specific health and safety compliance programs, such as, recordkeeping, walking-working surfaces, aerial lifts, PPE, confined space entry, lockout/tagout, fire protection, powered industrial vehicles, cranes, fall protection, trenching, work zone safety, machine guarding, hand power tools, welding, electrical, heat/cold stress, housekeeping, hazcom, FRA, FTA, etc.
• Ensure provisions of Site-Specific Health and Safety Plans (HASP) are complied with and reporting, investigations and training requirements are carried out in a timely manner.
• Assist in investigating incidents and developing required corrective actions.
• Administer project specific safety incentive programs.
• Administer client/project drug and alcohol program.
• Conduct and participate in on-site safety audits and observations.
• Conduct on-site job safety/hazard assessments
• Conduct on-site tool box talks
• Develop, coordinate and conduct on-site safety training activities..
• Oversee and interact with client safety staff and subcontractors on site
• Support industrial hygiene safety exposure monitoring, indoor air quality assessments and hazardous building materials investigations.
• Gather data and prepare reports on findings, using TRC mobile data apps
• Inventory and order safety supplies and materials as needed.
• Maintain and monitor a safety budget.
• Participate in internal and client meetings.
• Assisting TRC Office Safety Coordinators (OSC) in implementation and reporting of TRC's internal Safety Management Program, specifically including the use of TRCs Building Science Practices mobile Safety App.

• A minimum of 10 years relevant safety consulting experience in construction
• A Bachelor's Degree in a safety related field preferred but not required
• OSHA 10/30 Construction Safety and OSHA 40 Hazwoper certifications
• Certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health and Safety Technician. (CHST) or Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP) preferred but not required.
• Current certification as an authorized OSHA 10 hour and 30 hour Construction Safety program instructor is preferred but not required.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to be able to interact and interface with internal as well as external clients.
• Computer skills needed with knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Construction safety, current federal, state and provincial safety requirements experience.
• Relocation assistance will not be provided.
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, physical and motor vehicle records check.
