This position is located in our small, but growing, manufacturing and overhaul/repair facility located in Greenville. We have been in operation for over 50 years and offer fantastic benefits and stable work environment. Benefits include medical/dental/vision as well as many supplemental options at low rates. We also provide paid time off after 6 months and 12 paid holidays per year. About the Position! 1st shift position with some OT required Mon-Friday. $1000 Sign-on Bonus Summary This position is accountable for performing a wide range of shipping and receiving processes including incoming and outgoing shipments of product and keeping records regarding these transactions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment: Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. Determines method of shipment utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates. Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons. Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers. Inserts items into containers, using spacers, fillers and protective padding. Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape using strapping machine. Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damages items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Routes items to departments. Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. Mark inventory items with proper item numbers using labeling equipment. Makes appropriate transactions in ERP system or shipping software. Lift and move items/packages to assigned location. Education/Work Experience Requirements High school degree or 3 years of equivalent experience in a related field. Basic math, reading and writing skills. Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems experience. Oracle experience preferred. Ability to lift up to 35 lbs Basic knowledge of inventory practices, processes and procedures. Previous forklift certification and experience required. Use of forklifts, hoists, hand trucks, etc. is required. Self-starter with strong multi-tasking and organizational skills. Team player with a desire for problem-solving and critical thinking. The employee must occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an indoor manufacturing environment. The employee will work in areas exposed to production activities to include but not limited to production machinery, assembly operations, overhead cranes usage, and forklift traffic. The employee will be required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to workplace hazards. Mental Demands: While performing the duties of this class, the employee is regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information and documents; analyze and solve problems; use math and mathematical reasoning; observe and interpret situations; learn and apply new information or skills; and interact with other employees, customers and vendors.
