Position Summary:

This position will perform a range of functions involved in a warehouse / distribution center setting. This position is responsible for providing daily guidance to employees and coordinates activities engaged in warehouse responsibilities.

Key Functions and Responsibilities:

• Directs workflow of activities in the warehouse.
• Responsible for checking in and processing product returns.
• Processes automatic transmissions, standard transmissions, and transfer case orders and returns.
• Ensures cycle count activities are completed and tracked on a regular basis.
• Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
• Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
• Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications, and seals loaded containers.
• Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
• Issues verbal and written instructions during daily warehouse operations.
• Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
• Maintain department KPIs.
• Coach, train, and develop employees.
• Maintains a clean and organized department.
• Knowledgeable of 5s, and continuous process improvement.
• Adjust errors and complaints.
• Responsible for all building security, including after-hours dealings with the security alarm company and police. 
• Responsible for employee work schedules and ensuring enough employees are present during peak operating times.
• Responsible for minimizing controllable warehousing costs (utilities, supplies, payroll hours, etc.)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Prior leadership / supervisory experience preferred
• Strong Computer skills.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical exam, and background check screening
• Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers to aid in satisfying customer requirements.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations in order to accurately complete job tasks.
• Ability to organize and prioritize job tasks and requirements.
• Prior work experience in a warehouse or distribution center is preferred.
• Experience using a materials requirement planning system (MRP) such as AS400.
• Common sense approach to correct daily warehouse & shipping problems
