TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a full-time Quality Assurance Manager to join our team in Dover, Delaware.
Summary: Oversees all aspects of the organization’s quality assurance efforts, such as developing and administering the program, training employees, and facilitating change throughout the organization. Administers quality assurance activities related to product design, appraisal, manufacturing and repair. Responsible for establishing strategic plans, policies and procedures at all levels to ensure quality improvement efforts will meet or exceed internal and external customers’ needs and expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: May manage up to 4 direct reports.
Education: Minimum Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, or equivalent experience
Authority: Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies. Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s).
Job Complexity: Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends. Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Acts as advisor to subordinate(s) to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems. Develops and administers schedules and performance requirements; may have budget responsibilities.
Discretion: Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results may cause delays in schedules.
Interaction: Frequently interacts with subordinates, customers and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company. Often must lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team.
Direction: Manages, through subordinate supervisors, the coordination of the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing.
Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
