Job Summary:
Trane has an exciting new opportunity to join our organization as a VRF Ductless Equipment Project Manager supporting our Greater Northeast Regional Sales Offices. You will manage all aspects of equipment projects, from beginning to end, with direct responsibility for project execution while working with a team to accomplish specific objectives in a given time frame and with available resources.

Please Note: This is a unique role as an VRF Ductless Equipment Project Manager. This position primarily involves administrative and financial responsibilities, although having technical proficiency in HVAC systems and equipment would be advantageous. In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of assigned projects, collaborating closely with both internal and external stakeholders. This hybrid position also includes occasional travel to job sites and customer locations.

You will be responsible for the administration, implementation, and management of projects and accountable for assigned project’s scope of work, schedule, and budget. Must have great communication skills, organizational skills, prioritization skills, follow up and strong ability to multitask, as well as knowledge of computer systems. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, has a strong sense of urgency, lean processes oriented and can learn quickly through hands on/job shadow training with ability to learn in a fast paced, high-volume environment. Experience in customer service and financial management required. Construction/HVAC industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities:
  • Plans and analyzes assigned projects, establishes schedules and project parameters, and sets procedures to accomplish system objectives, involving complex equipment applications.
  • Communicates with customers and their representatives, including building owners, mechanical contractors, other trades, subcontractors, and field support staff. Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers and assigned staff.
  • Compares estimated ship dates with contractors’ project schedule and ensures compliance with internal equipment ordering processes.
  • Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the forecasted cost at completion and controls expenses by monitoring assigned project budget.
  • Creates and revises project schedules as per customer needs including generating tasks, estimates, dependencies, and milestones.
  • Responsible for project cash-flow management: progress billing, collections support and monitoring, and resource management.
  • Responsible for creating detailed cost estimates. Resolves major deviations from scope w/ team after Project Scope Validation.
  • Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the forecasted cost at completion.
  • Responsible for the preparation of Trane material & vendor orders; recording the receipt of materials & approving payments.
  • Responsible for entering equipment orders & issuing purchase orders for vendor orders.
  • Generates work orders for equipment start-ups.
  • Responsible for working with customers, warehouses and claims to handle freight damaged equipment or missing freight.
  • Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, & communicating w/ customers & assigned staff.
  • Responsible for the successful transition of warranty to service process.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business management or equivalent with 3-5 years of experience in project management or construction management preferred.
  • Strong, demonstrated customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, proactive approach with willingness to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proven experience prioritizing tasks to meet tight deadlines within a high paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems and temperature equipment preferred.
  • Financial management/Budgeting background preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft software, Teams, and ability to quickly learn proprietary software.
Base Pay Range: $75,000 - $85,000 / year. Total compensation for this role will include an incentive plan. This base pay range is based on US National Averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, or geographic location where the work is performed.
