Quality Manager


Job Function:

The focus of the Quality Manager is to lead the manufacturing plants in areas of customer specifications, quality alert reduction, proper identification of quality issues, countermeasure activities, and improvements to meet consistent standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement improvement opportunities and monitor performance against established standards and goals.
  • Oversees the creation and maintenance of all quality-related documentation and processes.
  • Interface with other departments to address and resolve “day to day” issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis and investigations.
  • Evaluate and pass/reject final products according to quality standards.
  • Monitoring and evaluating internal production processes.
  • Ensure systems of record are fully utilized and maintained accurate.
  • Train and coach staff to recognize defects and imperfections at all stages of the manufacturing and packing process to uphold consistent quality standards.
  • Identify and collect data to measure cost of quality and provide the basis for continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the Management Review process through data analysis.
  • Develop and execute QA training programs across all functional areas.
  • Responsible for maintaining the Corrective and Preventive Action program.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Quality Management System.
  • Gather product feedback and communicate with customers.
  • Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends for upper management.
  • Ability to work with basic inspection and testing equipment (Calipers, Micrometers, Pin Gauges, etc.).
  • Review and approve deviations, NCMR’s, CAPA’s, DCO’s, and change requests, as required.
  • Support the company quality policy and quality objectives.
  • Supervise inspectors, technicians and other staff and provide guidance and feedback.
  • Contribute to building a positive team spirit
  • Other duties or projects assigned by Plant Manager.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree & 5 years minimum experience required in the area of Quality or similar field.
  • Minimum 5 years manufacturing experience; multi-site responsibility plus.
  • Experience in supervision and/or management of individuals or teams.
  • Knowledge of standard quality tools such as FMEA (Failure Modes Effect Analysis), SPC (Statistical Process Control), Root Cause Analysis, and Statistics.

Work Environment:

The employee is subject to varied environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside. The majority of the work is performed in a professional office setting; HOWEVER regular and frequent activities must be performed on the production floor. All activities require interfacing with a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities, and abilities, as well as with both professional and non-professional backgrounds.
