Quoter Job Overview:

As the Quoter you will be responsible for reviewing all documents provided within a request for quote (RFQ) in order to develop a cost based selling price for said part/program that meets corporate profit objectives. Tools to develop winning bids include use of industry best practice machining methods, cut time calculators, CAM software (Feature CAM) and ERP systems. Success is measured by quote turnaround time, quote hit rate and job profitability.

You’ll be a great fit if:

• You can intake and process all available RFQ information
• You are able to develop a commercially viable quotation in line with overall company business objectives
• You can define all processes/resources (in-house and subcontract) required to produce the requested product along with their associated cost
• You will notify the Sales Team/Customer Service of missing information to help facilitate additional discovery.
• You are able to work cross functionally with Engineering, Quality and Operations to assure the quoted process is representative of best in-house practices
• You can use tools to develop winning bids including use of industry best practice, machining methods, cut time calculators, CAM software and ERP systems
• You can perform other duties as needed

Requirements

To be considered you’ll need:

• Two-year technical degree
• 5 years of experience in the same or equivalent role within a manufacturing organization
• Journeyman Machinist/Manufacturing Engineer experience
• CNC and/or CAM programming experience
• Strong understanding of machining related manufacturing processes
• Strong acumen related to process/resource costing
• Blueprint reading skills (including GD&T)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs and MRP/ERP systems
• The willingness to grow and learn
