TPG Marinas is Hiring a Marina Manager Near Port Jefferson, NY

Position Overview: The Marina Manager oversees the entire marina operation. This key person is responsible for the management of TPG Marinas’ policies, management, regulations, budgets, operations, human resources, training, maintenance, expansion, short- & long-range planning, reporting, and other administrative/supervisory direction of all activities and staff at the marina and related facilities. The Marina Manager reports to the Regional Manager of Marinas.

Responsibilities

  • Determine and maintain staffing needs to perform all functions of marina operations in accordance withTPG standards and practices and the budget.
  • Ensure the facility and equipment are properly maintained, taking into consideration financial impact, aesthetics as well as function.
  • Establish and implement high standards of cleanliness and professional service to customers.
  • Work with hotel management and staff to ensure smooth operation of the entire facility, including shifts as Manager on Duty.
  • Ensure the marina is operated in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Administration and sales of slip and mooring leases.
  • Maintain adequate records of dockage, moorage, insurance, and sales.
  • Enforce the terms and conditions of the agreements as well as the marina’s rules and regulations.
  • Assist in preparing budget projections, operating within the budget, and preparing financial forecasts.
  • Maintain proper inventory of fuel and retail merchandise to ensure continuous operations.
  • Approve accounts payable in accordance with TPG procurement guidelines.
  • Monitor and collect accounts receivables.
  • Rhythm meetings and reporting as determined by TPG Marinas.
  • Identify/implement new strategies to grow revenues and manage expenses.
  • Take charge and direct function of all personnel in connection with all emergencies
  • Fully responsible for safe handling of cash/credit cards, and for collection of all services rendered
  • Conduct ongoing review of marina rates and charges. Adjust rates accordingly and advise all impact tenants in accordance with agreements.
  • Assist in any operation where a temporary shortage of help creates a problem.
  • Attend and participates in industry events as required by TPG Marinas.
  • Plans, organizes, directs, assigns, and coordinates the work done by all marina employees.
  • Inspect and follow up quantity and quality of work done by all employees.
  • Set up a suitable training of subordinate personnel through establishment of in-service training.
  • Any other duties as assigned by TPG Marinas

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • High school diploma required
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • 2-3 years of proven leadership experience
  • 2-3 years preferred marina experience
  • General boating knowledge is a plus.
  • Proficient computer-based skills knowledge required
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. Able to stand for extended periods and occasionally kneel, stoop, bend and twist in tight areas. Ability to work in the elements regularly.
  • All candidates must be ready, willing, and able to work a fully flexible work schedule that may include days, nights, weekends and holidays to meet the fluctuating business demands.
