What You'll Be Doing

  • Kitchen Management:
  • Supervise and coordinate daily kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
  • Ensure adherence to recipes, portion control, and quality standards.
  • Lead and motivate kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication.
  • Quality Control:
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure food quality, presentation, and portion control meet established standards.
  • Address and resolve any issues related to food quality or customer satisfaction.
  • Inventory and Cost Management:
  • Monitor and manage kitchen inventory and supplies to control food costs.
  • Help implement strategies to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
  • Health and Safety Compliance:
  • Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations and sanitation standards.
  • Implement and enforce proper food handling, storage, and cleaning procedures.
  • Customer Interaction:
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to address customer feedback and preferences.
  • Work with the Executive Chef and Hotel Management team to enhance the overall dining experience.

What You Bring

  • Degree or certification in culinary arts or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 year of experience in a culinary role, with progressive responsibility.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience is desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety, and kitchen management.
  • Familiarity with diverse cuisines and trends in the food industry.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to handle various responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

Working Conditions & Physical Effort:

Physical work is a primary part of many of our hotel and resort jobs. Physical requirements include extended standing and walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting to 50 lbs. Some work is performed in an interior hotel environment with equipment and machines. The work involves exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. The exposure to hazards or physical risks requires following basic safety precautions and use of applicable protective equipment.
