    SUMMARY:
    Under the direction and supervision of the Science Department Chair, the person in this position is responsible for assisting classroom teachers with instruction of Science as well as the supervision of other areas of the building.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Supervise the chemical storage areas of the building.
    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
    BA degree in science/teaching with prior experience in biology or chemistry preferred.
    Background in laboratory science, especially in the implementation and preparation of laboratory materials. Background in the utilization of technology to support ongoing work with the department. Knowledge of Google Apps Suite preferred.
    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
    Certification registered with Lake County ROE.
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
    • Assist the Science Department classroom teachers with administering programs within the established philosophies and budgetary guidelines of the District.
    • Responsible for being aware of and contributing to the maintenance and implementation of all District 113’s safety policies and procedures.
    • Support all classroom laboratory experiments.
    • Track inventory of materials and equipment in science courses.
    • Order materials and equipment to support science courses.
    • Support students in work programs through the Special Education Department.
    • Manage workload and schedule between both high school buildings.
    • Perform other science program supervisory duties as assigned.
