Job Title: Court Operations Technician Department: Court Pay Grade: 207 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt JOB SUMMARYThe Court Operations Technician performs clerical, administrative, and public relations tasks in support of daily operations of the Municipal Court. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: CSR Coordinates data entry with Court Operations Technician responsible for data entry.Answers incoming calls and handles appropriately.Processes incoming fax correspondence.Processes Freedom of Information requests.Prepares court dockets.Assists the public, attorneys, and judges as required.Responsible for processing continuance requests submitted to the Mount Pleasant Municipal Court website and coordinates processing of requests with the Senior Court Cross trains with other Court positions.Performs other related assigned duties. DataPrior to data entry, ticket/warrant information is verified, and bond hearing information is organized.Tickets/warrants are entered based on the court date. Correspondence is mailed if any officer/bond hearing information is not accurate.Performs data entry.Retrieves tickets and booking sheets from the Police Department daily.Acquires all pertinent paperwork from police officers, not submitted with original charging documents.Prepares and mails notifications to crime victims.Prepares subpoenas to notify victims and witnesses of court appearances.Answers telephone calls and provides accurate information to the public based on State guidelines and Town ordinances.Maintains officers’ ticket inventory files including checking in tickets turned in at the end of the officers’ shift.Inputs all ticket books issued to the Police department into a specific inventory file.Acts as backup cashier in absence of clerk specialist.Processes credit card payments for bonds/fines via the telephone.Cross trains with other Court positions.Performs other related assigned duties. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK: High school diploma or GED, and three (3) years of related work experience; Or equivalent combination of education and experience.Valid South Carolina driver’s license.Bilingual (Spanish) desired but not required KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of office procedures and equipment;Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing; Ability to maintain confidentiality; Ability to maintain, manage, and organize records; Ability to meet and deal appropriately with Town employees, officials, and the public;Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills;Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively; Strong problem-solving skills;Self-starter, takes initiative, ability to work independently or as part of a team;Ability to manage time effectively, strict adherence to various deadlines, works well under pressure.Regular attendance and punctuality are required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, usage of computers and reading. This position requires substantial repetitive motion of wrists, hands, and fingers. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, grasp or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee consistently maintains balance either sitting, standing or walking and is occasionally required to stoop or crouch. The employee may occasionally push, pull or lift and move objects up to 10 pounds. COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS:The work requires the following mental abilities to perform critical tasks: use judgment, make decisions, interact with others, adapt to changes in jobs, verbal interactions, people skills - more than basic communication with others, and problem solving. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment involves everyday discomforts typical of offices, with occasional exposure to outside elements. Noise or physical surroundings may be distracting, but conditions are generally not unpleasant.
