Join the Town of Morrisville staff this summer by working as one of our camp counselors. The purpose of this position is to provide an exciting and safe environment for youth campers by leading games, songs, crafts, and other activities. Camp counselors are responsible for the direct supervision of campers, working with other staff to address the daily needs of a group of campers. We seek counselors with energy, flexibility, and leadership skills. Act as a positive role model, pay close attention to detail, build relationships with campers, adhere to, and enforce all Town of Morrisville and summer camp policies and other duties as necessary. Hours are between 7:15am-6pm Monday through Friday. Mandatory Camp training dates will be on the following dates: June 1st, June 3rd, June 5th, June 10th, and June 12th.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Daily camp set up & break down of activities.Assist with program implementation.Administers first aid.Maintain clean work and play areas.Supervise large and small groups of children.Accompany campers on field trips.Uses group management skills to engage all children in daily activities.Assisting campers with activities, games, and crafts.Friendly & outgoing interaction with campers.Actively involved in games and activities with campers indoors and outdoors,Provide a friendly customer service and a welcoming environment,Ensure safety and provide guidance to participants,Assisting as summer special events as needed
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Must be 16 years old,Have reliable transportation,Experience and ability to work well with children ages 5-14,Mature judgement and ability to safely supervise children,Ability to work well as part of a team or independently,Can lift up to 25lbs,Must be able to attend all pre-camp trainings,Must be able to work 25-35 hours Monday – Friday between the hours of 7:15am and 6:00pm
