The Town of Charlton is seeking a part time Regional Health Inspector and Health Educator for 19.5 hours per week.

This position is a regionalized position that will work with 5 neighboring Towns. Under the general supervision of the Charlton Coalition for Public Health and direct supervision by the Charlton Health Director, the Regional Health Inspector and Health Educator is responsible for the performance of technical and inspectional work to promote and protect the public health of CCPH residents through the enforcement of state and local public health laws and related to food and housing. Additionally, the employee will assist and augment the CCPH Community Health Coordinator in providing community education and outreach around inspectional services, public health, and environmental health to CCPH member towns.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

• Thorough knowledge of food service regulations, and all other laws, rules and regulations pertaining to housing.

• Working knowledge of current inspection and control procedures.

• Ability to maintain records and prioritize tasks.

• Ability to multi-task in a detailed and organized manner.

• Ability to maintain confidential information.

• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

• Ability to respond with tact and courtesy when interacting with the public.

• Excellent customer service and people skills.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Municipal employees, Town officials, state regulatory agencies and the public.

• Ability to enforce laws and regulations in an impartial and consistent manner.

• Must have valid driver's license.

HiringPayRange:$28.60 – $37.48 hourly depending on experience and qualifications.
