This role maintains and administers all Unix based and Linux machines within the Tower Hill systems infrastructure while providing the highest levels of machine performance and reliability possible.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assist with deployment, support, and maintenance of hundreds of Linux servers and the applications and infrastructure that processes on them.
• Works as a team member alongside the development, QA, and other instrastructure teams to ensure Tower Hill's technology solutions are successfully implemented.
• Identifies and documents processes & procedures in written and visual forms.
• Works with vendors, application developers, database administrators, system engineers, and other technology groups to resolve problems.
• Responsible for Level 1 trouble tickets coming in through the Help Desk
• Support a 24/7 environment with night and weekend availability when scheduled to be primary support.
• Utilize provided resources to ensure all of Tower Hills cloud infrastructure is reliable, consistently available, performant and processes requests successfully and as expected. This includes AWS offerings, Linux deployments, daily batch jobs, and cluster management using tools such as Kubernetes.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Associate's degree in a related area with at least 1 years of experience in the field or in a related area or a total of 2 years experience. Recent degree holders without relevant job experience will be considered with personal computing experience with the related tools and/or softwares.
• Experience working within the Linux/Unix command line environment
• Basic Linux server or workstation administration experience (sendmail/postfix (MTA), httpd, lvm, ntp, curl)
• Scripting experience a plus
• Experience with Postgres, ActiveMQ, Jenkins, Github, MySQL, a plus
• Experience with command pipelines, including grek, awk, and sed to create succinct data sets from logs or other output a large plus.
• Experience with working alongside a development staff, providing both support and systems-level recommendations as needed a plus.
• Working knowledge of and hands-on working experience with network configurations, services, routing and related protocols (TCP/IP, SMTP, HTTP, FTP, DNS, DHCP etc...) a plus.
• Knowledge of products and tools for aspects of system management, including backup, network/system monitoring, scripting, automation, and security
• Ability to quickly review large amounts of information and make knowledgeable statements regarding noticeable patterns.
• Excellent analytical, documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information
