Overview

The Clinical Coordinator performs under the daily supervision of the Program Director.

Responsibilities

• Correlate and coordinate clinical education and evaluate its effectiveness.
• Evaluate the progress of student performance in the clinical area.
• Assist the Program Director in coordinating clinical education.
• Supervise student performance at clinical affiliates.
• Develop student objectives and evaluation tools for clinical education.
• Perform competency based clinical evaluations.
• Maintain student clinical assignments and attendance.
• Act as resource to sonography students.
• Responsible for schedule of student clinical assignments to match established JRDMS guidelines.
• Assist in continuous program assessment.
• Instruct specific units of teaching as necessary.
• Maintain current knowledge of program policies, procedures, and student progress.
• Pursue continuing education in profession practice and instructional methodology.
• Cooperate with the Program Director in periodic review and revision of clinical course material.
• Provide training and education to clinical preceptors.
• Duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/ Experience

• Bachelors Degree required.
• State Certificate as a Sonographer.
• Previous teaching experience preferred.
• Proficient in curriculum development, supervision, instruction, evaluation, and counseling.
• Graduate of an educational program in Sonography.
• 2 years clinical experience as a sonographer.
• Documents the equivalent of two year full-time experience in the professional discipline.

• To affiliate clinical sites.
