Totally Kids Rehabilitation Hospital has a position available for a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA).

Job Summary:

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides direct and indirect patient care activities. The CNA assists patients with activities of daily living, provides personal care, motivates and assists patients in developing and utilizing their maximum potential for self-care, comfort and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment for an assigned group of patients.

The CNA duties include assisting patients with bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, repositioning in bed, walking, social activities; obtaining vital signs, height and weight; transports patients using wheelchairs and/or movable beds in consideration of patient age, gender, culture and stated preferences, maintaining patient privacy and respect at all times. The CNA assists with admission, transfer, or discharge activities as directed by RN and/or LVN.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant certification issued by the California Department of Public Health
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Rehabilitation Nursing Assistant (RNA) certification preferred.
• Minimum of one year of CNA experience in skilled nursing facility or hospital preferred
• Able to lift thirty (30) pounds without assistance
• Must be able to read patient information, posted materials and other printed material
• Knowledge of basic nursing procedures and charting as applicable to job
• Must possess good work ethics and a professional image at all times
• Knowledge of CMS conditions of participation, CDPH state regulations, CCS, and TJC (hospital, nursing
• care center, and laboratory) accreditation requirements as applicable to job
• Working knowledge of computer and software applications as applicable to job
• Possess strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills
• Works responsibly in a team environment as well as independently
• Manages confidential information effectively and appropriately
