Toska Restaurant And Brewery in Philadelphia, PA is looking for one kitchen manager to join our team. Our ideal candidate is attentive, motivated, and hard-working.

Job Title: Kitchen Manager

Reports To: General Manager or Owner

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee the daily operations of our kitchen. The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for managing kitchen staff, ensuring quality food is prepared in a timely and efficient manner, managing inventory, overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of the kitchen, and achieving financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and train kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and sanitation procedures.
  • Plan and execute menus that meet guest preferences, dietary requirements, and sales goals.
  • Manage inventory levels, ordering, and pricing for all kitchen supplies, including food, equipment, and cleaning supplies.
  • Ensure all food is prepared and presented to company standards, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including equipment, storage areas, and workstations.
  • Collaborate with the front-of-house and restaurant management team to ensure efficient and effective communication and service.
  • Develop and manage budgets for the kitchen operations.
  • Hire, train, and develop kitchen staff, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience as a Kitchen Manager or Executive Chef in a high-volume restaurant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques, sanitation procedures, and kitchen management principles.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to train, develop, and motivate staff.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of POS systems and basic computer skills.
  • Experience with inventory management, ordering, and cost control.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a hot and sometimes hectic environment.
