Job Details 

Location: Onsite - South Salt Lake, Utah (84119) 
Schedule & FLSA: Full Time, Hourly
Shift: First Shift 8:00 am - 4:30 pm 
Duration: Temporary from May - August

About the Internship

We are looking for interns to join our Manufacturing Operations team for the summer. As an intern, you will play a vital role in establishing and documenting processes, as well as creating training procedures for our production line focused on our cabinet assembly, which houses DIN rails and our inverters.

Internship Responsibilities

  • As an intern, your expected projects will be: 
  • Assemble ‘Article 1’
  • Document the assembly process
  • Train fellow colleagues on the assembly process
  • Deliver an artifact detailing and instruction on the assembly process, and procedure by the end of your internship and any other related training and documented materials. 
  • Responsibilities will also include conducting research, collaborating with team members, document standard operating procedures, identify ways that we can improve our assembly process and production line and ensure efficiency and quality control within the manufacturing environment.

Experience You’ll Need 

  • Continuing Bachelor's degree in a related Manufacturing or Engineering discipline (Manufacturing Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.)
  • Completed Freshman year (2 semesters).
  • Strong academic performance, typically reflected by a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Basic understanding of electrical circuits and components.
  • Hands-on experience with soldering and basic electrical tools is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to commit to the full duration of the internship program. 
  • Availability to work the scheduled hours determined by the department's needs. 
  • Basic understanding of industry principles and practices relevant to the department of interest.
  • Working knowledge of Google Office Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, or similar software.
  • Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges. 
  • Authorization to work in the country where the internship is located. 
  • CAD Experience working with mechanical assemblies and drawings in SOLIDWORKS.
  • Previous internship or work experience in a related field is a plus, but not required.

  • Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and work on multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Working Conditions

This position works in an air-conditioned warehouse/manufacturing and cleanroom environments. A break area is available with refrigerator access, microwave, coffee maker, and drink/snack machines.

Physical Requirements

  • Must have the ability to safely lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. 
  • Must be capable of standing, bending, and executing repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to read, identify, observe and recognize details, color-coding and fine print at close range on associated engineering drawings.
  • Ability to don personal protective equipment to include, but not limited to, respiratory protective equipment with proper seal, coveralls, ear protection, gloves, eye protection & safety helmet. 
  • Ability to observe, detect and respond to audible and visual machine malfunction warnings.
  • Ability to communicate information so others can understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Must report to work reliably and with the ability to use full and unimpaired skills and judgment to safely execute your job.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English required.
