The Director of Sales position is a critical position within the company, responsible for overseeing and managing the HVAC sales department and ensuring that the company meets its revenue and profitability goals. This position serves as the first point of customer contact for our HVAC business.
The role of a Director of Sales for an HVAC distributor requires a combination of strategic thinking, leadership, industry knowledge, and sales acumen. It plays a pivotal role in driving the company's growth and success in a highly competitive market.

Essential Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with the company's overall business objectives. This strategy should include sales targets, market segmentation, pricing strategies, and sales tactics.
Team Leadership: Manage and lead the sales team, including Sales Managers, Account Executives, and Sales Representatives. This involves hiring, training, and mentoring team members to ensure they meet their targets and contribute to the company's success.
Revenue Generation: Drive sales growth by identifying new business opportunities, expanding the customer base, and retaining existing customers. This may involve creating and managing sales territories and setting sales quotas.
Customer Relationships: Foster and maintain strong relationships with key customers, including contractors, builders, engineers, and HVAC service providers. Understand their needs and provide solutions that meet their requirements.
Product Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with the latest HVAC products, technologies, and industry trends. This knowledge is essential for helping the sales team and customers make informed decisions.
Market Research: Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor strategies, and opportunities for growth. Use this information to adjust the sales strategy and make informed decisions.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage the sales budget, including sales expenses, incentives, and marketing expenditures. Provide regular sales forecasts and reports to senior management.
Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as purchasing, inventory management, and marketing, to ensure that products are readily available and that marketing efforts support the sales strategy.
Sales Training: Implement training programs for the sales team to enhance their product knowledge, selling skills, and customer service abilities.
Performance Metrics: Establish and track key performance metrics, such as sales revenue, gross margin, customer retention rates, and conversion rates. Use this data to make data-driven decisions and continuously improve sales processes.
Compliance: Ensure that the sales team adheres to all relevant laws and regulations, especially when it comes to licensing, environmental standards, and safety regulations in the HVAC industry.
Reporting: Provide regular reports and updates to senior management regarding the sales department's performance, challenges, and opportunities.
Compensation structure is a salary paid weekly annual bonus based on performance and company profit.
