About This Position

The Assistant General Manager, (or “AGM”), in collaboration with other members of the leadership team, will communicate standards and practices for the restaurant to ensure a high performing and fulfilled team. They work closely with the General Manager and greater management team to drive service each day and inspire team members to work together and hold one another accountable to the standards set. They educate and support the service team to create the best dining experience for all guests and the best work environment and experience for all employees. The AGM reports to the General Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate a culture of authentic hospitality that supports our business objectives and growth.
  • Work the service floor daily in the restaurant & bar, while leading staff performance and ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain excellence and cleanliness of all restaurant spaces.
  • Foster positive working relationships with both managers and hourly staff throughout service periods, ensuring effective and timely communication.
  • Educate service staff on all aspects of food, beverage, & beer production through daily preshift meetings and tastings.
  • Work with beverage management to conduct, reconcile and submit month end beverage inventory (not required for all managers.)
  • Remain current and compliant with the correct HR practices and policies, holding employees accountable to all standards and practices, evaluating and/or following disciplinary procedure when necessary.
  • Validate that the payroll process is completed accurately, on time and according to business/accounting procedures (not required for all managers.)
  • Ensure Health Department compliance for all front of house spaces.
  • Provide feedback and guidance with excellence and hospitality in mind, ensuring that all team members have a pathway for growth and development.
  • Work both opening and closing shifts as needed.
  • Consistently look for internal and external candidates to build our growing team.

Qualifications

You have:

  • An innate love of hospitality
  • 2-3 years of management experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment in restaurants, hotels, bars, or breweries.
  • Experience with & understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc)
  • Knowledge of & experience with POS and ERP Systems such as R365 or Craftable is a plus
  • Knowledge of hospitality systems and processes and an ability to find the simplest solution to complex problems
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail
  • A passion for craft beer (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree or similar experience

What we’re offering:

  • Annual compensation range of $75,000 - $85,000 commensurate with experience.
  • Benefits include: PTO starting at 2 weeks paid time off 1 week paid sick leave; 401(k); maternity and paternity leave; commuter program; beer allowances.
