Topcon Medical Systems is Hiring a Desktop Support Specialist Near Oakland, NJ

Based in Oakland, NJ, Topcon is a comprehensive diagnostic device manufacturer within the worldwide eye care community. It introduced the world’s first commercial back-of-the-eye Spectral Domain (SD) and Swept Source (SS) optical coherence tomography (OCT) systems, which have driven innovation in eye care. More recently, to develop the most efficient, pragmatic and state-of-the-art solutions, Topcon formed a new strategic division, Topcon Healthcare Solutions, whose primary objective is to create world-class software solutions for the eye care industry and beyond. The company's products enable the collection and visualization of a wide range of imaging and clinical data while providing quantitative and clinical analysis capabilities. Topcon’s software gives clinicians access to patient exam data captured from OCTs, Visual Fields, Fundus Cameras, and other Topcon and third-party devices. Topcon leverages its new data management system called Topcon Harmony, where practitioners gain access to both DICOM and non-DICOM information stored in a central, cloud-based environment. Additionally, Topcon now provides an integrated service that connects practitioners to an extensive network of reading services to assist in the management of sight-threatening eye diseases. Job Purpose The IT Desktop Support person is critical to the growing operational needs of Topcon’s Eyecare Business. The main responsibilities of this role will be to provide support to Topcon’s ever-growing employee base and administrate its broad software & service catalogue. During your employment you will be exposed to nearly every facet of enterprise technology, allowing you to develop your talent as an IT professional. Work for this position will be tracked within the Jira-based Global IT ServiceDesk. While flexibly hybrid, the IT Desktop Support person will be onsite at the Oakland, NJ office at least 50% of the time. General areas of responsibility include: Triage incoming requests to the Global IT ServiceDesk Provide primary support to internal staff both locally and remote Manage lifecycles of PCs, mobile devices, and conference room equipment Administrate user profiles and access across AD/AAD, as well as a variety of SaaS platforms and infrastructure Perform regular audits of licensed service user engagement Required Qualifications: B.S. in Computer Science or related degree, or 2 years equivalent experience in a Desktop Support role Excellent verbal and written communication skills Fundamental knowledge of a shell scripting language (batch, bash, PowerShell, etc.) Fundamental knowledge of networking principles Ability to multi-task and prioritize work according to deadlines and business impact Ability to work productively while remote Preference will be given to applicants who possess: Relevant certifications including, but not limited to: CompTIA A Microsoft 365: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate CCNA Experience in a technical customer support role Experience with Microsoft 365 including SharePoint, Teams, and Endpoint Manager (Intune) Experience with remote connection services such as TeamViewer, RDP, etc.
