Topco Associates is Hiring a Data Governance Analyst (Hybrid) Near Itasca, IL

Overview

Topco Associates is currently seeking a Data Governance Analyst for the Enterprise Data Governance Team in Itasca, IL. This position will be a hybrid role, with the successful candidate conducting work in our Itasca office three times per week and virtual twice per week. 

The Data Governance Analyst will report into Enterprise Data Governance team that will serve as an organization in the advancement of data governance and management best practices. This role is responsible for managing data governance needs of three key data domains (Material, Customer and Vendor) in Topco.

This role will help build and implement policies, procedures, and standards for data governance and data management functions. They will be responsible for identifying continuous process improvements in the data world, identifying data quality opportunities and drives compliance with data governance and quality initiatives.The Data Governance Analyst will use technical tools and best practices to analyze and measure data quality and develop action plans to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of our enterprise data with the necessary standards.

Responsibilities

  • Represent data governance team, coordinate, and facilitate discussions to build and maintain data standards, procedures, and policies across all critical master data domains.
  • Responsible for creation and maintenance of Data Governance documentation and related training material.
  • Drive implementation of optimal process solutions to meet members and cross functional team needs.
  • Applies diverse and cross functional business knowledge when analyzing multi-dimensional problems
  • Performs impact analysis and coordinates the execution of change processes.
  • Creates data governance and quality metrics and dashboard.
  • Identifies data quality opportunities and drives adherence with data governance and quality initiatives.
  • Collaborates with IT and business teams serving as central point of contact to address data management and data governance needs by domain.
  • Analyze problems, diagnoses issues, and finds root cause, and then either create a fix or partner with the team to collaboratively design a solution.
  • Open to learn setup tasks such as Item Setup, Vendor Setup, Customer Setup in SAP
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience, required

Technical skills:

  • Master Data experience in the areas of Material, Customer and Vendor domains (preferably in SAP)
  • Ability to work in an environment where multiple technology infrastructures are utilized.
  • Strong knowledge of database analysis, and the ability to help structure data for the use in reporting and analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software including: Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Data visualization experience with Tableau or SQL experience is a Plus

Previous experience:

  • One to Two year’s relevant experience in a CPG company or similar supply chain operations.
  • Experience in coordinating and facilitating discussions with cross functional teams
  • Experience in performing root cause analysis on data quality issues.
