Job Description:

The Director of IT Infrastructure & Security (DDGIS) is a critical member of the Operations team. The DDGIS is a leadership role and is an empowered representative of the VPOPS and acts as the Information Security Officer for DataDelivers and all its affiliate companies. This Individual encompasses a strong technical background, as well as an ability to work across all teams to align priorities and plans with key business objectives. The DDGIS provides strategic direction for the organization’s technical infrastructure, internal and external data assets governance, consumer privacy regulations, and security (including hardware, software, servers, databases, storage solutions, networks, audiovisual equipment, or physical facilities) in support of critical business needs.

Responsibilities:

Data Governance

  • Establish and govern an enterprise data governance implementation roadmap including strategic priorities for development of information-based capabilities
  • Maintain and provide rollout of an enterprise-wide data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data through modifications to organization behavior policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and data architecture
  • Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for DataDelivers principal information assets
  • Serve as a liaison between Business and Functional areas and technology to ensure that data related business requirements for protecting sensitive data are clearly defined, communicated and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning
  • Develop & maintain inventory of the enterprise information maps, including authoritative systems, owners
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality standards, data protection standards and adoption requirements across the enterprise
  • Define indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements
  • Coordinate external data sources to eliminate redundancy and streamline the expense related to those services
  • Identify new business opportunities pertaining to the use of information assets to achieve efficiency and effectiveness in the marketplace / represent data as a strategic business asset

IT Infrastructure

  • Manages the daily operations of the IT Manager (networking, desktop support, service desk, training and security)
  • This position will directly manage IT Manager and actively influence leadership throughout the company to assure the successful implementation of company initiatives.
  • Implements and maintains all network services infrastructure with special emphasis on the security and stability of DataDelivers systems and all confidential data.
  • Manage infrastructure and security vendor relationships ensuring that service levels and vendor obligations are met.
  • Collaborate with the VPOPS on the evaluation, allocation, and management of physical and financial resources and administer the hiring, development/training, management, evaluation, and effective assignment of personnel.
  • Oversee identity and access inventory tracking.
  • Ensures high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission critical host computer resources.
  • Ensures that records of system downtime and asset inventory are properly maintained.

Security

  • Manages and participates in the planning and implementation of security standards, practices and procedures to ensure system security and legal compliance.
  • Develop, schedule, test and communicate the IT Disaster Recovery plan and Procedures.
  • Understand local, state and federal laws concerning IT Security and work with teams to ensure that business follows these policies.
  • Architect appropriate technological, procedural, and educational/training security practices that result in an appropriate level of information security for DataDelivers.
  • Works collaboratively with leadership to develop and deliver a program to educate administrators, faculty, and staff about security and compliance with regulations such as HIPAA, PCI-DSS, FERPA, ISO/IEC, et.al.
  • Maintain a current understanding the IT threat landscape for the industry.
  • Translate that knowledge to identification of risks and actionable plans to protect the business.
  • Applies revisions to host system firmware and software.
  • Ensures that Information security policies and procedures are communicated to all personnel and that compliance is enforced.
  • Constantly update the information security strategy to leverage new technology and threat information.
  • Identifying, engineering, implementing and monitoring security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks and data
  • Brief the executive team on status and risks, including taking the role of champion for the client from a security perspective
  • Provide leadership for all information security audit activities
