Job description

Immediate opening available for an EXPERIENCED & MOTIVATED Customer Account Manager at our Madison Heights, MI location. Minimum 2 years of customer service/sales experience in logistics or transportation experience for this position.

Customer Account Manager (Logistics)

We are a progressive, fast growing 3PL looking for an experienced customer account manager capable of building and growing customer accounts and relationships through top-notch service, creative thinking, professional and proactive communication, utilization of technology, and team collaboration. Experience in a 3PL environment is required. Some of the most important traits we are looking for in a candidate are; self-motivation, problem solving, customer focused, and overall customer management & development skills.

Experienced & Motivated, Logistics professionals only. This is a high-performance opportunity with phenomenal growth possibilities for the right person. The position is ON-SITE at our Madison Heights, MI location.

Travel required – less than 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and close new business by making cold calls to potential customers, qualifying customers, and handling objections effectively.
  • Build and nurture relationships with prospective and existing customers within your book of business.
  • Sell and close deals with new and existing customers to meet their freight transportation needs.
  • Manage daily shipments, ensuring timely pickup and delivery while addressing any issues that arise.
  • Record and track all sales efforts using our CRM
  • Respond to customer inquiries, bids, RFPs
  • Utilize negotiation skills to determine pricing with customers and carriers.
  • Participate in regular sales meetings with management on goals and forecasting.
  • Collaborate with team members.
  • Open and proactive communication, both internally and externally.
  • Must be willing to train and learn other operational tasks within the company, in order to better understand the company in its entirety.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 year of customer service/sales experience in logistics or transportation
  • Professional, courteous, and cooperative with the team, customers, and carriers
  • Must have a drive to succeed, confidence, and great verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of a CRM
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Enjoy working in a team environment with high levels of team communication
  • Must be self-motivated, punctual, and reliable
  • Must be willing to do what it takes to learn
  • Willing to be challenged and create solutions
