Business Analyst - Spirits

Position Summary

The Business Analyst - Spirits is responsible for ordering, purchasing; vendor relations; carrying out applicable merchandising and marketing initiative; and managing profitability of their department.

Position Responsibilities

• Analyze and forecast actual sales, inventory levels and landed cost to determine the optimal purchasing strategy
• Work with vendors on new releases, pricing/margin, supply chain constraints, supplier relationships, and consumer preferences
• Manage the overall purchasing process and timely execution of purchase orders for existing and new suppliers
• Creates and maintains professional relationships with vendors, suppliers, etc. and negotiates competitive promotions with vendors
• Reorder considering historical sales trends, consumer preferences, and pricing
• Ensure in-stock position of essential inventory
• Create sell through strategy for excessive inventory
• Work with accounting to catalog and code invoices according to procedures and as requested
• Maintain item information ensuring data is current
• Enter new items and vendors into the appropriate systems
• Develop, utilize, and report performance to metrics for measuring and improving business performance
• Facilitate store requests for new products
• Stay within budget and maintain dialogue with finance team
• Oversee cooler sets and planograms for all locations, visit stores with regular frequency
• Assumes other responsibilities, performs other duties and assists other departments as needed

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in business/related field and/or 3 years’ experience in a purchasing/business analyst role
• Exceptional Excel skills including knowledge of and experience with Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and other retail formulas
• Strong understanding of retail math
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Familiar with MS Office (Word, Outlook, OneDrive)

Additional Details

• This position is expected to be approximately 45 hours per week, potentially additional hours when necessary
• This position is salaried – based on experience between $50,000-$60,000
