THE TEAM

Tomorrow Health's Technology Team is building the products and features that enable a faster, efficient, and more transparent process for patients and other healthcare partners. To meet the needs of the business, our Engineering Team collaborates with our Product Teams to build innovative products and features to ensure patients and caregivers receive the best possible experience as they navigate the DME (durable medical equipment) landscape.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a Director of Engineering to lead and shape the technical vision, execution, and charter for provider experience. As an engineering leader, you'll oversee multiple engineering teams designing, building, and deploying complex new products and features. The director of engineering will be a technical and thought leader for the company and collaborate cross-functionally with multiple teams across the organization. You will contribute to the system design, architecture, technical strategy, product roadmaps, and applications development, leveraging various technologies and tools. This role will have direct reporting responsibilities for several scrum teams under the charter. In addition, this position will be responsible for hiring and scaling the team to meet the needs of the business. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• You'll lead teams developing features and systems that enable Tomorrow Health to manage a patient's care between doctors, insurers, and suppliers.
• Your team will work consistently to achieve or exceed OKRs collectively and individually.
• You will work closely with cross-functional team members as a technical contributor to business goals.
• Recruit, hire, and onboard bar-raising talent.
• Delegate meaningful ownership to team members and foster a culture of coaching, mentorship, and constructive feedback
• Foster a culture of transparency - consistently communicate progress to your team, company leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
• You believe deeply in the idea that the future of healthcare can be significantly better, and we can make it a reality. 

REQUIREMENTS

• You have 8 years of software development experience. 
• You have a minimum of 5 years as a people manager.
• You are skilled at leading geographically distributed development teams.
• You have a track record of success designing, building, and maintaining highly-scalable complex applications and systems. 
• You can dive deep into planning and design discussions around scalability and future product needs.
• You are well-versed in designing and maintaining APIs and distributed systems.
• Extensive knowledge and experience building and maintaining cloud infrastructure - like AWS, GCP, and Azure
• You have hands-on experience working with web technology stacks, preferably Python-based, with knowledge of react-based technologies.
• You are a champion and practitioner of agile methodologies. 
• Consistently adhere to and coach the team on best practices in software development.
