Diesel Technician with Sign On Bonus
Tom Nehl has several open positions for a full-time experienced Diesel Truck Technician. This position is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and maintaining Freightliner, Volvo, Western Star, and other heavy-duty trucks.

Tom Nehl represents multiple manufacturers, including Freightliner; Volvo; Western Star; Isuzu; Sprinter; Capacity; Detroit; Caterpillar; and Cummins.
Tom Nehl Truck Company provides an above industry standard wage. In addition, we have a full benefit package which includes the options for medical, vision, employer paid dental insurance; HSA with an employer contribution; FSA; $20,000 employer paid life insurance; optional life insurance; short-term and long-term disability plans. We offer paid time off and seven paid holidays a year.
Position Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy-duty trucks utilizing diagnostic computer software.
  • Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems.
  • Troubleshoot drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel emission, brakes, steering, hydraulics, adjusting, and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
  • Utilize repair orders to aid in the diagnosis and repair of heavy-duty trucks.
  • Utilize software to create service records documenting the complaint, cause, and correction of vehicle issues.
Education/Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum of two years’ experience as a diesel truck technician.
  • License and/or Certification preferred or the willingness to acquire
  • Commercial Driver’s License preferred.
  • Must provide own set of tools.
  • Detroit, Cummins, Volvo, CAT, International, PACCAR engine certifications are a plus.
