Tolleson Elem SD 17 is Hiring a 23/24 SY Summer Camp Certified Instructor Near Tolleson, AZ

TESD Summer Camp Instructor for School Year 2023-2024


Instructor Responsibilities SUMMER CAMP LOGISTICS:
TESD Summer Camp will be from June 3rd to June 27th, 2023 at an identified TESD School Monday through Thursday 7:45 AM- 3:15 PM.

The pay is $30.00 an hour and instructors will receive an hour of paid planning time for every four hours taught. TESD Summer Camp is open to all students across the district, and is attended by up to 600 students.


LESSON PLANS:
Instructors will implement an instructional plan utilizing district approved curriculum and assessments. The focus of the summer camp instructional blocks are to prepare students for a successful 2022-2023 school year. Lesson Plans will be submitted and will include English Language Proficiency Standards.


STUDENT ATTENDANCE:
Accurate attendance records are a very important part of TESD Summer Camp Program. Our effectiveness as a summer camp program is measured partly by how many students attend regularly. Consequently, each instructor will be provided with a roster of students to record attendance. Attendance should be turned in DAILY and will be monitored by the Summer Camp Coordinators.


PRE & POST ASSESSMENT:
As part of the evaluation process, students will participate in pre and post assessments. Each instructor will be responsible for administering a pre and post-assessment that are part of the curriculum to evaluate what the students have gained through their course. In addition, instructors will monitor the progress of all students throughout the summer camp experience.


DUTIES:
Summer Camp Instructors will follow a daily schedule which will include duties to ensure student safety throughout daily session.


DISCIPLINE:
Summer Camp Instructors will develop routines and procedures to support effective teaching. Kids at Hope Framework will ground instructor-student interactions.

SUCCESSFUL PROGRAM PARTICIPATION: Participation in TESD Summer Camp is a privilege. Instructors will utilize effective classroom management skills and build relationships with students for a successful educational experience. Summer Camp Coordinators will support with severe behaviors that affects the learning of other students. Instructors will be proactive and communicate discipline issues to the Summer Camp Coordinators so that they may subsequently relay that information to the parents. Always call on the Summer Camp Coordinators to assist you in dealing with severe discipline issues.


STRUCTURE:
• In the classroom each student should automatically get started on the lesson to be taught for the day.

Clear objectives will be posted. • Rules-same rules apply to Summer Camp as during the regular school year. • EACH student should have an assigned seating area or desk. Seating assignments are important for structure and expectations. CELL PHONES: • Cell phones to be used during class time. • No personal phone calls during class time will be allowed unless it is an emergency. • Give family and friends the school number so that they can contact you in the event of an emergency. • Phone calls can be made before or after class unless prior authorization has been given.


STUDENT SUPERVISION:
• During breakfast and lunch (according to a duty schedule) • It is your responsibility to ensure Safety and Accountability • It is imperative that we account for all the children participating in our program at all times.
