Purpose of Position: The Service Manager is responsible for all aspects of business operations for the Service Department and improving sales results through the satisfaction and retention of customers.
Supervises: Manages subordinate supervisors. Is responsible for the overall directions, coordination’s, and evaluation of these units. Also directly supervises non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Essential Job Functions:
· Prepares Service Department sales and expense forecast for budgeting purposes.
· Responsible for maintenance oversight of the department shop, vehicles, tools, and equipment.
· Ensures that all customer interaction is handled in a courteous, professional manner.
· Maintains a professional relationship with all vendors and factory personnel wo represent the manufacturer.
· Adheres to environmental requirements and safety programs.
· Effectively communicates, orally and written, ideas and solutions to subordinates and customers.
· Monitors and adjusts work flow processes.
· Settles customer and employee disputes.
· Ensures company policies are followed.
Required Skills/ Abilities:
· Should have a through understanding of the mechanical makeup of the equipment the company services.
· Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
· Ability to write reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals.
· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from group of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
· Ability to calculate figures and amounts cush as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
· Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
· Must have basic understanding of Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
· Should have proficiency in our business operating system.
