We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Spanish<>English Staff Interpreter to join our team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will provide interpreting services primarily in the Legal, Medical, and Education sectors, ensuring seamless communication between our internal and external clients. We require candidates with native-level fluency in both English and Spanish, and while prior interpreting experience is preferred, we are open to training suitable candidates. Responsibilities:

Provide Spanish<>English interpreting services for all persons or groups, as scheduled, including interpreting for both internal and external customers. Interpreting will be performed primarily within the Legal, Medical, and Education settings and may be provided on site or remotely as needed. Work to ensure customer satisfaction through successful completion of interpreter assignments. Always represent TNOLA in a professional manner.

• Demonstrate ability to deal with confidential information, including sensitive medical and legal situations.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers, including education on the field by explaining policies and procedures, the demands of the interpreting job and the roles and responsibilities of an interpreter.
• Manage schedule/assignments in a productive manner. Keep supervisors apprised of availability and status while on assignment. Assigned to urgent work, as needed.
• Act as Mentor to students and other interpreters.
• Relay feedback received from customers, regarding operation of the department, to supervisor.
• Act as liaison to Interpreters including education on policies and procedures, educational opportunities, and agency events. Relay feedback received from interpreters, regarding operation of the department, to supervisor.
• Assist in attracting new business customers and interpreters by recommending TNOLA Languages and its services.
• Track assignments and work hours within designated software.
• Participate in training and assessments.
• Provide administrative office support, and other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).

Required Qualifications

• Native level fluency in English and Spanish
• High School Diploma or GED
• 40 hours formal interpreter training
• (Training or training stipend may be provided to appropriate candidates)
• 1 year of experience
• Willingness to pursue certification in Medical, Legal, or both interpreting fields within a reasonable timeframe, with certification being a condition of employment.
• Assignments may require use of a personal vehicle
