The Advisor is a staff position designed to provide holistic advising and support services to ensure student retention and success. Advisors will report to the Director of Enrollment Services and collaborate with other advisors, recruiters, administrative staff, and faculty to oversee the college’s effectiveness in meeting the needs of the students.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Working Conditions:
Sedentary: Desk work; travel will be required for college or program activities. Evening and weekend hours will be required. Normal range of movement is expected. Ability to lift at least 30 lbs. Minimal Hazard/Exposure: Standard office settings. At least minimal environmental controls to assure health and comfort. Besides frequent person to person interactions with students, faculty and staff, this position requires significant communication by telephone and other electronic means (e.g. email, etc.)
Required Qualifications:
Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing. Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment including on-line computer systems, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and email programs. Willingness to learn new software applications. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be able to maintain an effective relationship with all constituencies.
Minimum Requirements of Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university.
Four years of experience in student affairs at the postsecondary level.
Preferred Qualifications:
Community College experience is preferred.
Experience with Banner Student Information System.
Minimum starting salary is $40,600 annually ($20.82 per hour). With additional experience pay increases to a maximum pay of $50,700.
